365 Challenge Day 263 – Yoga: Air

Air was one of the most interesting elements because our teacher talked about the really negative side of Air, and then the positive.  She said the mind and thinking are Air.  People come into class all stuck up in their heads and lost in their thoughts, and this is too much Air.  The first thing you have to do is to ground them into their bodies and into the room, bringing in the Earth element.  But then, using the mind in conscious way to direct the thoughts, such as bringing attention to different parts of the body, is also Air, the positive aspect of Air.  It’s so fun bringing the elements into teaching!!  (Well, so far it’s just been practice teaching!)
